2011 Dodge Durango
61Good Job Chrysler!
I was not expecting this from Chrysler. This SUV is amazing! Despite what I think about it, it is the American market which will determine this as a success or not. I am glad that Chrysler is not changing all their SUV's to crossovers like many car companies are doing and will be doing in the future. Even with the bad economy and the high gas prices, there still is a small SUV market out there and Chrysler could just be the one to dominate that market.
What I like about this SUV is the bold front. It looks very aggressive which is the way a Dodge should look. I really think it looks nicer than the old 2009 Durango. The back of the vehicle is nothing to get excited about, it is okay.
Now lets talk about performance. This SUV is built on the same platform as the new 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee. There will be two engines available for this vehicle. Both will be five speed automatic. The Hemi-outfitted Durangos will be capable of towing 7,400 pounds. The V6 models will be able to tow a good 6,200 pounds. You will have the choice of 4 wheel drive or real wheel drive. For fuel consumption, we do not know the numbers yet, but you are able to travel over 500 miles on a single tank of gas.
For 2011, the Durango will feature an all new interior with all new material and comfort for all three rows. The interior was created by the same team that designed the interior for the new Ram trucks, so it should be nice.
This SUV will be built at the Jefferson North Assembly Plant in Detroit, Michigan. It will be in showrooms by 4th quarter of 2010.

Im not a fan at all. There are many other contenders that i think i would prefer. The Mercedes-Benz GLK350 is around 41k same as the Durango and that is the way to go in my honest opinion.
