Views On Youtube
Youtube is a great marketing tool, a fun hobby, and for some, great for earning money. For all three of those things, you need views. Views are something that you have to work for. Every youtube star out there started from just a little youtube channel that then grew to something people around the world know. New stars pop up from anywhere. That new star could be you.
Whenever you type in a search in Youtube, most of then time you will find video that have hundred of thousands of views, or maybe even millions. The videos that show up first are the ones that are the most relevant to your search and the most popular.
You will not get huge amount of views overnight if you are just starting out. There are some key things that you can stick to, to increase your views.
Getting the Views You Want
The very first thing you need to do is to make good quality videos. Make the video in something you enjoy. If you enjoy the video you are more likely to put more effort into making it a masterpiece. If you are making a tutorial for lets say, "How to Install Windows 7," I would first do a quick search in Youtube to make sure there are not too many tutorials on that subject already. It is best to do a tutorial on something that no one has made a tutorial yet for.
Be consistent with your videos. It is very rare in Youtube when you post one video and it gets thousands of views. It is good to post a video at least every 1-2 weeks. By doing that people know that you are still active with your youtube channel and more likely to come back.
The title, tags, and description are important in a good youtube video. You want your title to stand out to the viewer when they are surfing through videos. For example lets say you are making a video on you and your friends playing paint-ball. A bad title would be "My friends and I playing paintball". A title that might catch someone attention could be something like this, "My Friend Gets Shot in the Face With a Paintball!" Also with the title NEVER put things like underscores between words. It just makes it look unprofessional and uninviting. When using tags, use tags that are ONLY relevant to the video you are posting. If you are making a video on cooking, do not try to get more views by putting a tag like "miley cyrus." I have tried it and it does not work. Also do not put too many tags. If you do Youtube will look at it as spam and will rank your video lower. The description should be common sense, basically put one in, it's not that hard because when searching for videos, part of the description will show up.
Next you have to interact in Youtube. When you subscribe to people, comment on their videos, favorite their videos, ect. other people are more likely to look at your channel and videos. It is even good to make some friends there too. More friends means more subscribers. More subscribers means more views.
Another thing is to make your Youtube channel page inviting. I have been to some channels and their color choice was so bad you could barely see the text. What you want to do is to make your channel so that the colors do not clash, it is easy on the eyes to look at, and it is good to make it unique.
Video responses are very useful. Youtube allows you to post a response to some other persons video using your video. By doing that you are creating an extra link to your video. Tips for video responses is that you don't want to post them to very popular videos. That is because for most youtube videos your video response has to be verified by the owner of the video first. If it is a popular video, then the owner of the video probably gets hundreds or thousands of those responses a day. Your video probably won't even be looked at. I would say to do video responses to videos with maybe only a few thousand views. Remember, you can only make one video response per video.
At the end of the video, make sure to remind the viewer to rate comment and subscribe.

I have only one video on youtube with just about 100 views! Do people earn money on youtube from having lots and lots of good quality videos or is it just a video sharing site?
I completely agree, in my opinion, youtube is the best place for internet marketing! I apply these techniques plus I use a software to help me do some of this stuff on auto. Check it out:
OMG Thank you, I will try subscribing more people!
Good suggestions. I haven't thought of youtube as a social site up till now.
