Should the Mosque Be Built?

As everyone probably already knows, there is this huge debate going on weather to let the Muslims build this mosque they want near Ground Zero.

Here in the United States we have something called Freedom of Religion. Everyone knows that, but Ground Zero is a very sensitive place. Many watched as the buildings crumbled to the ground, as people jumped from the buildings. Many know people who have lost their lives in the 9/11 attacks. Now... The question is, should the Muslims be allowed to build their Mosque near Ground Zero? Shouldn't the Muslim's know that the area they want to build their Mosque, will create a huge debate?

Even I don't have much of an opinion on this debate. I support both sides, and both sides seem correct. Freedom of Religion should allow them to Build the Mosque, especially since it is private property. But at the same time, building it would cause an uproar and probably vandalism, riots, and many, many angry Americans.

I don't have a doubt in my mind. The mosque should not be built on this site and if the Imam was truly interested in "building bridges" he would agree to move it.

Yeah that's what I think. Because the Muslim's should know that Ground Zero is a very sensitive area.

When will people listen? When you let these people finish there job, who the hell do you think I will be going after when all else is lost? When you have taken over this country from the good, hardworking Americans, who do you think Americans will be taking arms against? Touch my 2nd amendment and I promise you, you won't make that choice twice. And no offense, but you cannot ride both sides of this argument. You are either for or against. So pitch one or shut up.

And for your information, I voted your hub UP despite the fact that you are misled, even if you tried to appear not to be? I believe you are misled and you don't get it. Here is to praying for your soul. It is not mine to determine whether or not it is worthy. But I am sad that you took such a "middle of the road" side. How pitiful! Why even bother write the hub and waste your time, AND MINE! I would say good hub but you are lazy and won't choose a side. You better pick one now, brother/sister, or you will be lost amongst the throng of "crap" in these United States. Pick a side. This is a revolution. People without conviction, A SIDE, usually die. PICK ONE!

I think in your heart you can lean more towards for or against while still trying to see both sides of the issue. Honestly though, building a mosque there makes no sense what-so-ever. Of course there are people against the idea, it probably seems like a slap in the face to those ,especially, who lost loved ones during 9/11. I feel like the people who are trying to build a mosque there are asking for trouble, and they will most certainly get it, which is really unfortunate. Why continue to cause strife when it can be easily avoided. The issue isn't even religious freedom, it's commen sense.

@poach why do you think I am misled? And for your information I really do not know which side to pick because they both seem correct.

Kyle: Then you need to read everything you can get your eyes on. Your worry that there will be vandalism and such by angry Americans is not even close to true. One might have thought if that would have ever happened, it would have happened after 9/11 but there were no mosque burnings or vandalism after 9/11. That is not America. But it is Islam's intention to build that mosque on that specific spot because that is what they do when they conquer a country; they build mosques on sites of the dead that they conquered. Read it. It's everywhere. The Imam that is running around the world using our tax dollars will not renounce Hamas, and has publicly stated that Islam is bringing Sharia law to America. Please, you must pay attention and speak out. Islam hates America and they are damn close to taking over this country with the help of our Idiot President. Check out this link. I just found it this morning. I believe it is from 8/29/10. Yea, real nice religion this Islam. If I was rough to you, I apologize, but I am telling you in all seriousness, this is no time to sit on the fence. This country has been infected with apathy for over 40 years but now it is time, once again, for us to be the Americans we can be and protect our country. Please read, I am begging you.

First of all they even said that if the mosque is built, then they will have to hire a police man to guard the mosque 24/7. And second, all Muslim's are not bad. You can't stereotype a whole type of people by a few leaders. Anyways, there were even some Muslim firefighters that helped on 9/11 to save American lives.

This isn't just a few leaders Kyle but it appears you have picked a side. Unfortunately for you, the wrong one. Good luck with that. Because I most certainly can stereotype that entire body of people. Why just in Tehran this morning, those wonderful people you are talking about were marching in the streets saying "Death to America, Death to Israel." Yes, Islam is a real peach and love religion. Kyle, it is their religion to kill all infidels. The infidels of whom they speak is American and Israel. You chose your side, let's see if they win how long you will live with the side you chose.

pcoach, methinks you are a bit harsh on Kyle, and it does not appear that he has chosen sides, per se, as much as he may not have sufficient information, especially when you consider that moderate Muslims are likely considered infidels by radical standards.
